In 1911 California's Governor Hiram Johnson was so disgusted with the corrupt California Legislature he intiated Direct Democracy, bypassing the Legislature with the ballot initiative process.  Legislators of today still hate that we inferior citizens actually can legislate laws of OUR own liking, bypassing the Legislature.   Here are a few propositions I have written.  Let me know if you agree they would be worthy.

Proposition A - Election Reform

This proposition fundamentally changes the role of elected public servants and representatives back to their consitutional intent of representing citizens rather than pandering to wealthy corporations and individuals by making it a felony with mandatory 10-year sentence for any California-based elected official to receive a penny from anyone for any purpose.  It removes the barriers honest citizens have to running for office extending to all citizens the right and prerogative of running for office.  It removes the strong protections incumbants have, giving everyday citizen/statesmen more equal footing in elections.  It returns empowerment to We The People from The Democrat/Republican power brokers.  It also returns to the citizen the right to have a wide spectrum of candidates.

Key points:

Elected officials receive excellent remuneration for their public service.  They do not need to supplement their incomes with bribes, donations, or secret payoffs.
