Fundamental reasons for eating living foods
The fastest growing segment of Vegetarians during the past several years is the Raw Food Movement. Their practitioners tout 'living foods' as a road to health and well-being. This brief article will answer the following questions: What is it? What are they eating? And, why?
If you accept the official religion of evolution, you will believe that humankind has evolved over millions of years. During just the past few thousand years man has been rarely cooking some of his food. During the past 150 years the percentage of cooked food has risen dramatically with the advent of modern society's more permanent dwellings with convenient gas or electric ovens and stoves. Prior to widespread conveniences such as refrigerators, food was harvested and eaten right away. Foraging for food was common place. In our modern perception, we can only imagine ourselves doing this if we were hopeful survivors of a plane wreck. But, remember, 300 years ago there were no supermarkets. There were no vehicles of distribution. Life was very different. Cultivation of home gardens was the rule in permanent dwellings, and migratory or nomadic life (in search of wild ripe fruits and vegetables) was the rule for many of our forebears until quite recently.
